A hard decision that I once made that I would like to talk about was choosing to study in a city that is far away from my hometown.

我想讲的一次自己做的艰难决定就是远离家乡去另外一个城市读书。

The decision was made after the results of College Entrance Exams came out in the summer three years ago.You know,my parents had expectations of me,hoping that I could get enough scores to be matriculated by a local university,which would make it easier for them to take care of me.For me,it would also be convenient to live in a city where I was born and raised.Well,I exerted every effort to achieve this goal but ended up failing them.My scores didn’t allow me to choose a good major if I persist in staying in that university.

这个决定是在我三年前高考成绩出来的时候做的。我父母当时给予我厚望，希望我可以考够分数去本地的一所大学念书。这样的话，他们就可以比较容易照顾到我。对于我来说，在一个生我养我的城市读书也会比较方便。我当时竭尽全力去努力达成这个目标结果还是让他们失望了。我考到的分数不足以让我在那所大学年读一个好专业。

Well,it took me three days to make the decision,which was actually not long as our school needed us to make a decision in a relatively shorter timeframe.However,the process of pondering on the pros and cons of a specific major and college tormented me quite a lot.You know,I had to consider this thing from both the geographic and educational perspectives.

这个决定花了三天，时间并不长。因为我们学校要求我们要在较短的时间内做出决定。但是，当时反复思和权衡考大学和专业的过程真是折磨死我了。我得从地理和教育两个角度来考虑这件事情。

The reason why I think it was difficult to make was that I actually had little experience or knowledge about the programs I was about to choose from.You know,my high school was merely about cramming for the exams instead of exploring the realms that I might potentially have a passion for.I really hope someone who had experienced similar situations could guide me at that time.

我认为这个决定比较难的原因就是我当时对我要从中选择的各种专业几乎是一无所知。我高中基本上只有应试的部分，而非探索我可能比较感兴趣的领域。我当时真希望经历过类似情况的人能够指点我一下。
