1.What do people usually buy on the street market? 人们通常在街市上买什么？

I suppose they like to buy some handicrafts, like handmade necklaces, dolls andcarpets and so on. It is hard to find them in those big shopping malls because theycan’t be mass-produced.

2. Do you prefer to go shopping in the shopping mall or on the street market?你更喜欢去购物中心还是街市购物？

I prefer to go to shopping malls. It’s mainly because the after-sales service is muchbetter in those shopping malls. They can fix my problems with the productseffectively. However, those stalls on the street market are less reliable because theycan move to other places whenever they want. It’s hard to find them if the productshave any problems.

3. When was the last time you went to a street market?你上次去街市是什么时候？

It was last summer holiday when I went to a street market. The market was on thebeach, so it impressed me. I bought some dresses and flowers there, and I tookmany photos with my friends. We really had a blast.

4. Are there many street markets in China? 中国有很多街市吗？

No, not really. The government thinks that those street markets can make citiesdirty as they leave rubbish and they can be in the pedestrians’ way, which caninfluence people’s lives negatively. Therefore, many cities have strict rules on streetmarkets.
