A time I was late for a meeting happened about a year ago.It was on the first Friday afternoon of September.

一次我晚到的会议发生在大约一年前。那是九月份的第一个周五的下午。

I remember at that time,our government lifted covid lockdown and commuting restrictions,so we were able to attend classes on campus.At that time,my prof invited us to join a meeting to discuss what to write for our mid-term paper.

我记得那个时候，我们政府已经解除了疫情封锁和通勤限制，我们能够去校园上课了。就是在那个时候，我的教授邀请我们参加一个会议来商讨其中的论文事宜。

My professor informed us by email that we should arrive before 3 pm as he would have another class to teach in school an hour later.Well,the awkward thing was that I was half an hour late for this important meeting.The main reason was that I was playing a game called The World of Warcraft,a massively multiplayer online game.I had a dungeon to finish,which lasted around forty minutes.To avoid getting late,I intentionally set up an alarm that I missed,unfortunately.Maybe I was too deeply absorbed in the game and forgot there was a meeting.

我的教授通过邮件告诉我们需要在下午三点前到达，一个小时之后他还有另外一节课要教。很尴尬的就是，我当时迟到了半小时。主要的原因就是我当时在玩一款叫做魔兽世界的多人在线游戏。我当时有个五人副本要打，需要大概四十分钟吧。为了防止迟到，我特意设置了闹钟。遗憾的是，这我也错过了。或许是因为我当时太投入了，忘记了有会议这回事情了。

Honestly speaking,I felt a bit guilty when I arrived there as my prof and classmates were waiting for me to cover up things we needed to do in cooperation.I was grateful that they didn’t blame me for anything,and I really hope this kind of stupid mistake won’t happen again in the future.

老实说，当我抵达那里的时候我感到很愧疚。因为，我的教授和同学们都等着我来完成需要合作的部分。他们并没有责备我，我很感激。我希望我未来不要再犯这种愚蠢的错误了。
