Nowadays, a lot of young people are having troubled minds of balancing job and social activities reasonably. From my perspective, I would say that one should spend more time on job which ensures a happier life than social life does.

For people who are similar to my elder sister, they seem to be more satisfied with a rich and abundant life. My elder sister Maggie is a life insurance actuary working in a big insurance company which is located in Northern Canada. As a qualified actuary with seven-year long working experience, Sister Maggie receives lots of money as the results of her hard work. And consequently, high salary from work enables her to live a prosperous life—Besides possessing two adjoining villas which are located in the centre of Toronto, she could also easily afford to pay the expense of sending her two children to best private schools and she would go to The Queen's Quay shopping mall every weekend to buy all sorts of luxury items. As for her, joyfulness coming from doing whatever she likes and being able to buy anything she wishes can not be replaced by any social gatherings.

Moreover, while people are working on their jobs, contributions they make to the whole society embody a sense of self-accomplishment. Teachers often find themselves working with a delightful mood and having accomplishment since they help kids to move ahead triumphantly. By praising a student who came up with an excellent answer in the class, teachers can make students feel confident, and consequently it is indeed a pleasure for teachers themselves as well. And after teachers impart knowledge, students learn and get a better understanding of all kinds of knowledge; teachers enjoy a satisfactory career life. So jobs make it a lot more possible for people to gain satisfaction with themselves compared with busying themselves doing social activities.

In general, the self-accomplishment and a rich and affluent life which job offers can be more significant in the process of pursuing well-being.
