雅思作文关于阅读的范文,很多同学对于这个问题有疑问和不解,那么下面就跟着中国教育在线的小编详细了解一下吧。
In todays society, people are increasingly busy, and there is a pressure to focus on things that are immediately practical and useful. Some people argue that reading for pleasure is a waste of time and that we should only read books that are useful, such as textbooks and manuals. However, I disagree with this view, and in this essay, I will explain why.
Firstly, reading for pleasure can be a valuable experience in its own right. It can provide us with a sense of enjoyment and entertainment, which can be a powerful tool for stress relief and for improving our overall mood and wellbeing. Whether its diving into a gripping novel or exploring a new topic in a non-fiction book that sparks our curiosity, reading can be a joyous and fulfilling experience that has benefits beyond just learning practical information. Furthermore, reading can help us to develop empathy and understanding of different perspectives and experiences, which can make us better-rounded individuals and improve our social interactions.
Secondly, reading for pleasure can have practical benefits as well. It can improve our vocabulary and language skills, which can be important in our professional lives as well as our personal ones. A wide-ranging reading habit can also help to stimulate our creativity and imagination, as we are exposed to a diverse range of ideas, styles, and genres.
Of course, reading textbooks and manuals can be useful for learning practical information that we need to know for our studies or careers. However, I believe that it is important to strike a balance between studying and exploring new ideas and themes through reading for pleasure. Simply focusing on practical reading can lead to a narrow-minded and utilitarian outlook on life, whereas reading for pleasure can help to broaden our horizons and make us more well-rounded individuals.
