百分比：常用percent/per cent（一样的用法）和percentage

1）percent/percent需要与数字连用，如：six percent（6%）；或者：数字+percent of+东西

例：百分之九十的人 90 percent of people are

（谓语动词取决于of后面的名词）

2）percentage不能直接跟在数词后面，需要用the percentageof sth. is+数字

例：苹果的比例是46% the percentage of apples is 46（谓语用单数）

1）account for

例1：1966年市民在食物上花的钱占44%.

Food accounts for 44% of citizens spending in 1966.

例2：到1996年，食物的比例下降了百分之三十。

2）A constitute/take up （more/lessthan） XXX% of

例1：去年香蕉产量占了水果总产量的一半还多。

3）A make up/ comprise X percent of B. A占B的百分之几

例1：车占费用的23%。

Cars make up/compromise 23 per cent of the expenditure.

例2：食物和车是两项最大的开销。

The Food and cars made up the two biggest items of expenditure.

4）表示人的比例，几分之一：one in 数字

例如：八分之一：one in eight，百分之一：one in a hundred

或者，one person in ten/one person out of ten 十分之一的人

例：十分之一的人反对计划。

One person in ten is against the plan.

5）在中，什么占了多少：Out of/Of+数字+名词，数字 are/is

例1：在一百个员工中，70个是研究生。

Out of/Of the 100 employers, seventy are postgraduates.

例2：在一百个员工中，半分之二十是博士。

Out of /Of the 100 employers, the percentage of doctors is 20.

6）下降了/上升了百分之几：increased/dropped bypercent

例：60岁以上的人口上升了20%。

The people over sixty have increased by 20%.

7）下降了/上升了几分之几：gone up/declined by two thirds

例：粮食产量减少了五分之一。

The grain yield has declined by one fifth.
