What are the advantages and disadvantages of vacations to the seaside?

The seaside is incredibly beautiful to visit, but it does come with some disadvantages. Vacations there are often very crowded as it is a popular destination. The beach is much less enjoyable if you have to fight for a spot. If you catch the right day and it is peaceful and empty, there is nothing as calming as a stroll down the beach with the waves and birds all around you.

Sea-work varies, if you are based on the sea, it is more likely you will be on a fishing vessel or cruise ship. If you are based at the seaside, it will be tourist work or hospitality, like selling ice-creams to children! It is often seasonal work, tourists come in the summer and the fishing season promises months on the sea and months back at home. Because of this it doesnt appeal to everyone.
