文本及疑难解析

1. No...not this time round...because it's the first one...you know. 不，这一次不评分，你知道，因为这是第一次。

该句的难点：this time round的意思就相当于not this time。另外you know没有什么具体含义，只是一个口头禅。

2. ...cos not a lot of people know where the islands are...因为很多人不知道那些岛屿在哪里。

首先，cos是口语中对because的省略。另外否定词在people和在know前面的意思差不多。

3. Dr. White said we shouldn't go into that sort of detail. White博士告诉我们不要讨论那些细节。

go into是讨论或者研究的意思。

4. Nope...that goes in the Language Policy Seminar...don't you remember?不，那个将在语言政策讨论会上讲，你不记得了吗?

that指的是上文提到的the role of English language。nope是口语中表示否定的一种方式。

21. 原文and five minutes for questions中直接给出了答案，比较简单。预测的时候就知道这个题要听一个数字。

22. 原文...and is this one going to be assessed? No, not this time round...虽然是在问句中提到了题干中的will和所填答案assessed，但是只要考生稍加记忆，就可以轻松地从后面的否定词中获得答案。要注意该答案的写法。

23～26题是搭配题。

注意题干和选项的比例关系。四道题目只有三个选项，这意味着有一个选项要被选两遍。

23. 原文but I think we ought to say something about the geographical location...cos not a lot of people know where the islands are中的ought to提示考生该题应选A。

24. 原文Shouldn't we say something about the economy...because it does influence the education system...let's think about that one later shall we?中说economy这个话题以后再说，所以他们有可能要包括这个话题，所以选B。

25. 原文general view of education... of course中的of course提示考生应选A。

26. 原文...and then the role of English language... Nope... that goes in the Language Policy Seminar... don't you remember? Are you sure? Positive. 中说the role of English language要在另外一个讨论中涉及，所以肯定不包括，选C。

27～30题是一个表格。

27. 原文...the most important thing is the overhead projector... No problem... we'll get that from the media room... 中的代that指的是上文提到的overhead projector。如果无法将代词还原，定位就会出现问题。多做快速阅读可以解决这样的问题。
