"Incredible Hulk" takes in $3.5 mln from Chinese movie-goers
昨天，今年暑假最重量级的进口大片《无敌浩克》正式在杭州影院上映。遗憾的是，在北京奥运会精彩赛事面前，电影票半价的优惠在观众心中吸引力有限，上座率平平，总体票房羞涩。业内人士表示，影市要随着9月3日进口大片《木乃伊3》的上映才会回暖。
"The Incredible Hulk" surpassed its predecessor with a take of 24 million yuan (about 3.48 million U.S. dollars) from the opening weekend box office on the Chinese mainland, according to its releaser.
The film comes just five years after another movie adaptation of the Marvel Comics character, Ang Lee's "The Hulk" in 2003, which only earned about 10 million yuan on the mainland, Tuesday's Beijing News reported.
The film about the super-hero, starring Edward Norton as a scientist who hunts for a cure to the gamma radiation that poisoned his cells, opened in Chinese cinemas last Wednesday.
The global box office of "The Incredible Hulk" has so far reached 235 million U.S. dollars.
